The downtown area was sure buzzing this week with the latest and greatest dining out cheap meal deal. This was part of the plan for the city of Joliet, Illinois to attract business to the downtown area.
Yes, $10 meals have been the talk of the town all week and thousands of people headed out for a bargain in these tough economic times.

They sure look like they are enjoying their meal and who wouldn’t at those prices.
These dinner special weren’t just fast food quality but the $10 specials included everything from steak and shrimp dinners to pasta and pork chops.The restaurants that participated really went all out and many said they exceeded expectations and even ran out of steaks and seafood before the campaign ran it’s course.
So this initiative is truly a win,win,win situation…
The city increases it’s take on taxes, the businesses get business and the diners were served excellent meals that were easy on the pocketbook. A great deal all the way around.

Stay tuned as the city says this is just the beginning of their campaign which truly is the first of its kind in Joliet and has been launched by the city along with the City Center Partnership and Joliet downtown businesses.The purpose is to bring in revenue for local Joliet businesses and tax revenue for the city.
