Yes, the headlines this week in Joliet, IL read, “Blagojevich Indicted.”
And the following video clip chronicles this bleak day…
We all knew this day was coming but to see such video clips and headlines, doesn’t bring joy to my heart.
I believe it’s about time for this indictment to finally take place after what Blagojevich has done to add corruption to the governors office once again. But even though I’m glad he will finally face his day in court, it’s still a sad day in Joliet and the rest of Illinois.
We deserve a governor that can lead us honorably and honestly. I just don’t understand why this is so difficult to accomplish. Is it really too much to ask of our politicians to lead usĀ with courage and valor? Is it too much to ask for honesty and commitment from our governor to all of us as a state of hard working people instead of governors and other politicians using their offices for their own personal gain?
What History Books Will Say About Illinois…
Here’s a video covering this sad Blagojevich Indicted day that will be added to our history books. Is this the kind of example we want for our children to learn about and from in their history classes? I don’t think so.
However, I do hope that some kind of good will come from this indictment of former Governor Blagojevich so we can look back some day soon and see a turning point. A point where this crisis and the last crisis of corrupt politics that happened behind the walls of our governor’s office will finally turn into an opportunity for hope and change.
Yes, change for the better, change we can be proud of, for a change!
Not, “Blagojevich Indicted.” headlines all across our Joliet and other Illinois cities headlines.
