Is Advertising Spending Necessary During an Economic Crisis?

Hunkering down and cutting back on your marketing and advertising during an economic down turn can have devastating effects on your Joliet area business.  So, the recommendation is to continue to spend and even increase your spending in order to survive for the better times ahead.

I know, I know, to you this might sound crazy…

But yes, this really is true.  Just check out this quote from All Business, a D&B Company and you will see what I mean –

“Study after study has delivered the same results: companies who pull in their resources and hunker down to ride out the economic uncertainties fall way behind when things get better. Those same studies show that companies, who aggressively pursue revenue in good times and bad, leapfrog over their competitors in the following years.”

In other words, you shouldn’t be afraid to spend the same if not more money on your advertising during these tough times.  But what you really should be doing is taking a good hard look at what type of advertising or marketing will give you the best chances of survival until things begin to improve.

And if you take the risk now to put this money into your business even though things look so bleak you will most likely end up ahead of the pack in the long run.

The important thing to keep in mind is that you need to shop around and find the best techniques available at the moment.  Ones that can provide you with the highest return on investment (ROI).  Of course the only way to do this for sure is to pay close attention to your marketing and advertising results so you can readily discover exactly where you’re best results are coming from.
